What is Individual Therapy?
Individual therapy is a collaborative process between a therapist and an individual, helps with issues that are making life difficult and helps build more content lives.
In individual therapy, the client is treated on a one-on-one basis with a therapist. Individual therapy is the most popular form of therapy and is especially effective for those suffering from trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Individual therapy provides the therapist and client to focus on each other, and create an alliance, allowing them to work together and resolve the client’s issues.
Do you offer in-person therapy sessions as well as online?
Yes. We offer therapy at our location, online and by phone.
What are the benefits of online therapy?
Benefits to online counselling include accessibility, convenience, and affordability. If you are travelling, or live in a rural or remote area, online counselling is available as long as you have access to the internet. Being able to receive professional counselling and therapy from the comforts of your own home or office and not needing to pay for childcare, gas, or parking, are also benefits to online counselling. However, many clients prefer to interact with their therapist in-person. Only you can determine whether in-person or online therapy is better for you.
How many therapy sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your goals for therapy, types of interventions, and your presenting concern. Sessions are typically booked once every two weeks but that may vary depending on your financial situation and schedule.
What are your fees?
Fees for sessions are based on a sliding scale based on your household income and range from $65 to $130 for a 50 min session. Please see the fees page for more information.
Are therapy services covered by extended health care plans?
Yes, our services are covered by most insurance companies.
